What the cedar-room page does and does not collect.
A short notice in plain Canadian English, covering the federal PIPEDA framework and British Columbia PIPA. The cedar-room page collects very little - this notice explains exactly what.
01. What this notice covers
This notice describes what CedarEdge does and does not collect from a visitor to the cedar-room reel page. The site is run from a small workshop in Vancouver, British Columbia, and the regimes that govern us are PIPEDA (federal) and PIPA (British Columbia). We do not invoke GDPR, RGPD, the UK Data Protection Act, or CCPA, because none of those frameworks apply to a small Canadian-operated free-play site.
02. What we do not collect
- No account is ever created, anywhere on the site. There is no sign-up, no login, no password.
- No payment information is requested, because the site does not accept payment of any kind.
- No third-party analytics platform is loaded — we do not run an analytics tag, a marketing pixel, or a chat overlay.
- No social-media share button is loaded with an embedded tracker.
03. What we do store on your device
Two small browser keys, both set by JavaScript on first visit, both kept locally in your device's localStorage:
cdg_age_ok— set to1when you press the “Yes, I am 18 or older” button on the age overlay. The key suppresses the overlay on return visits.cdg_ck_okorcdg_ck_no— set to1when you accept or decline the cookie banner. The key suppresses the banner on return visits.
Neither key contains any identifying information. Neither key is sent to a server. Clearing your browser data removes both.
04. Server-side logging
The web server that hosts the cedar-room page keeps standard server access logs — IP, request URL, user-agent, timestamp. These logs are kept for fourteen days for security and debugging, then rotated out. The logs are never shared with a third party, never enriched with any other data, and never used to profile an individual visitor.
05. Your rights under PIPEDA and PIPA
If you would like a copy of any data we hold about you, or want us to delete it, send us a note at contact@<?php echo $serv_host; ?>. We will reply in under thirty days as the federal framework requires. For the cedar-room page, that data is in practice limited to the server logs above and the two browser keys, neither of which are linked to an identifiable person.
06. When this notice changes
If we change what we collect, this notice will be updated and the date of the update will appear in the workbench notes on the homepage. We will not change the notice silently.
